Hi! My name is Kayla, owner of Life & Beyond, certified death doula.
The path that led me here has certainly been a whirlwind, but I am glad to be here. I was a nursing assistant for over 7 years, working in long term care. I have assisted and taken care of many residents and their family members as they navigated the dying process.
It is incredibly humbling to be able to support someone while they complete their journey on this earth. Working with the elderly has been my passion, and although my path led me away from that work while I stayed home with my son, what many would call destiny has brought me back.
I have lost many that I love in my life, but the year 2023 was an exceptionally hard one, having lost a couple friends, my last grandparent and my dad. Going through the process so intimately with my dad made me realize that I am passionate about caring for people in one of the most important journeys they will take and supporting their loved ones during a difficult, yet sacred time.

Outside of this work, I love all things nature and outdoors. I am the epitome of a Minnesota girl, loving and appreciating all four seasons, but I really enjoy spending summers in the pool with my husband, our son and two dogs.
